Supported Independent Living

A home that actually feels like one.

Our SIL homes are warm, well-run share houses with 24/7 support — not clinical facilities. Housemates matched on personality. Support tuned to your plan. Independence, on your terms.

Why Accucare SIL is different

Four things we won't compromise on.

Matched on vibe

We match housemates on personality, interests and rhythm — not just a spare room. Home is a feeling.

24/7, without hovering

Skilled support workers are there when needed, invisible when not. Independence has room to grow.

High intensity ready

Registered for complex and high intensity supports — from PEG feeds to behaviour support plans.

It's your home

Your keys. Your kitchen. Your rules on Netflix night. We support the home you build.

Inside an Accucare home

Homely first. Everything else follows.

We pick homes the way you'd pick your own — light, air, a decent kitchen, a garden if we can, and a neighbourhood that opens doors instead of closing them.

Private, personal bedrooms
Each resident gets their own room to style, personalise and retreat to.
Shared kitchens & meals
Cook together, or opt out. Weekly menu planning is a housemate ritual, not a rule.
Accessible by design
Ramps, rails, wide doorways, wet-room bathrooms and assistive tech where needed.
Everything switched on
Wifi, streaming, utilities and household basics — sorted from day one.
Light-filled communal spaces
Homes chosen for natural light, gardens and easy access to shops, parks and public transport.
Community on the doorstep
Every home is picked for its neighbourhood — cafés, clubs, medical, transport, all close by.
The care behind the couch

Skilled support, quietly at your back.

From medication and mealtime management to behaviour support, complex health and personal care — our team is trained, matched and there when you need them.

How moving in works

A calm, four-step path to your front door.

We know moving is huge. So we make the process gentle, transparent and completely at your pace.

01
Let's meet

We hear your story, your goals, your non-negotiables and the small things that make somewhere feel like home.

02
Home & housemate match

We walk you through available homes and introduce potential housemates — no surprises.

03
Sleepover trial

Test the vibe with a trial stay before you commit. Real bed, real dinner, real chat.

04
Move-in with a plan

We coordinate NDIS, SDA, transport, movers and setup so day one feels calm, not chaotic.

Is SIL right for you?

SIL fits when you want more independence — with the right hands nearby.

Not sure if SIL is the right fit? We can talk you through the options — SIL, SDA, MTA, in-home supports — and help you or your coordinator decide.

Good to know

SIL questions, answered

Eligibility, referrals, timelines and what happens next — answered.

Who's eligible for Supported Independent Living?+

SIL is for NDIS participants whose plan includes SIL funding — usually assessed as needing regular support in a shared home. If you're unsure, send us your plan and we'll read it back to you in plain English.

How do referrals work?+

Self-refer, or ask your Support Coordinator, LAC or family member to email intake@accucare.com.au. We reply within one business day with next steps and vacancy info.

How long until I can move in?+

Meet-and-greets happen within a week. Once we've matched the vibe with current housemates, move-ins typically land 2–6 weeks later depending on trial stays, funding sign-off and your pace.

What happens next after I enquire?+

1) Discovery call with our intake team. 2) Home tour and housemate meet. 3) Trial night or weekend. 4) Service Agreement signed. 5) Keys in hand — with your support team already trained on your plan.

Do you support high-intensity or complex needs?+

Yes — our homes are staffed for high-intensity supports including PEG, epilepsy management, complex behaviour and 2:1 care. Registered nurse on call 24/7.

Can I choose my housemates and support workers?+

Always. We match on lifestyle, routines and personality — never just on a bed being free. You meet housemates and workers before you commit.
